MY CHILD IS FEELING VERY BAD, WILL THE CARD HELP?
- Mental illness is unfortunately widespread and common among our young people. Connection Cards can be a good way to help the child open up and verbalize something that feels difficult. However, it is extremely important to take mental illness very seriously. If you are worried about your child, you should always contact your health center or child and adolescent psychiatry department immediately.
MY CHILD DOESN'T WANT TO ANSWER QUESTIONS, DOES THE CARD HELP?
- Getting answers to straightforward questions can sometimes be difficult as an adult. There are many reasons why children are unwilling or unable to answer. Using Connection Cards demands that you as an adult also share what you feel, and in this way show the child that it is possible and that it is ok to share what is inside. However, it is important not to put unnecessary pressure on children. Try to set up the situation as undemanding and casual as possible. Try to invite the conversation in a relaxed and natural way.
MY CHILD IS 10 YEARS OLD AND SOME THEMES FEEL RELEVANT, BUT OTHERS DON'T. APPROPRIATE CONNECTION CARDS 3 US?
- We do not have age limits, but age guidelines on our cards. The cards do not need to be “paid off” all at once. If you think that some of the themes in Connection Cards 3 is right for your child, you can use the cards even if the child is 10 years old. The cards that are not suitable at the moment can simply be put aside. In the same way, cards from Connection Cards 1 still be extremely relevant for a 40-year-old mother or a 78-year-old grandfather. The age guidelines are for guidance, but it is up to you to decide what is right for you.

It is in interaction with safe adults that the foundation for emotional regulation, impulse control, empathy and social skills is developed.
WHY?
As children grow, their world grows too.
Me in the world contains 20 cards with themes that reflect the big world that the child is entering, such as roles, mental illness, social media and affirmation.
To support children in navigating this difficult terrain and strengthening their self-esteem, we have developed the cards together with legal psychologist and psychotherapist Ida Welbourn.

Emotional awareness makes it easier to deal with stress, conflicts, and other challenges that can affect one's mental health.
When a whole world opens up, it's easy to feel small and deal with this by closing yourself off.
By having honest conversations with your child about this complexity, you are a role model and a good example of how emotions can be handled and verbalized.
What we cannot verbalize, we cannot process, so your role as an adult in getting children to talk is important.
In addition to themes, the cards contain situations that you can reflect on. Not only asking direct questions can make it easier for a little person to open up. Lay out the cards and let the child choose the card that feels right today.
Another way to use the cards is to simply choose a situation that fits in a context and talk based on that.
Nike, 12 years old, tells the story based on the question "can you describe a situation where conflict can be positive"
"When my two best friends and I were in second grade, we often argued. That was probably a good thing, because it's much easier to solve problems with them now."
Over 10,000 of our customers use Connection Cards to communicate better and support children's emotional and social development.
Many are families, but also schools, preschools and actors in child and adolescent psychiatry, family homes and school health care who work to promote mental health among children and young people.
Testimonials

Curlydoula"We've looked at a little current affairs to get help putting it at a good level, but when I got the new cards from Bonki I was so happy that they had an "activist" card, among other things."Me in the world" is aimed at older children and adults, but it has been so incredibly nice to have now that we spend so much time together and talk about a little heavier things, even though she is only 5 years old. I hope and believe that you will get as much benefit and joy from them as we have. ❤️”
Paulina Gunnardo"I tried the cards today with my 10-year-old daughter and she loved them. And my god, what she talked about, we sat for hours. She said herself that she wants to draw cards every day."
