     Not all topics may be directly relevant to your situation here and now. In that case, put those cards aside. If you have experience with that particular situation or feeling, you can share your experiences yourself. By sharing yourself, you make it easier for your child to open up. 

    SHOULD I START WITH CONNECTION CARDS 1-3 TO USE CONNECTION CARDS SIBLING?

    No, Connection Cards siblings can be used independently of Connection Cards 1-3. However, there may be advantages to combining the cards according to what suits your unique situation. 

    ARE SIBLINGS ONLY SUITABLE FOR SIBLINGS OVER 6 YEARS OF AGE? 

    All children are different and develop at different rates. We have set guidelines for appropriate starting ages, but it is you as an adult who knows what suits your child best. Since siblings are often of different ages, you can also adapt the questions so that all children can understand and participate in the discussion. 

    The Siblings

    The cards contain themes, situations and events that affect siblings. From having a sibling, to dealing with fairness between siblings, having a bonus sibling and the future with a sibling. 

    In collaboration with a child psychologist

    We have developed the cards in collaboration with a child psychologist to cover the most common topics that can arise between siblings, and in relation to the sibling relationship. Perhaps you as an adult have experience with the topic, e.g. bonus siblings or illness? Invite a conversation by sharing yourself!

    Connection Cards Because siblings create conversations. Why is that important?

    Communication: Siblings learn to communicate and express their feelings in a constructive way. Often these topics are discussed in a heated manner, but through calm conversation it makes it easier for the child to be honest and open. 

    Emotional intelligence and sympathy: When siblings use the emotion cards, they practice their emotional intelligence and empathy. They learn to recognize emotions in themselves and in each other. In this way, they learn to be aware of their own reactions and (hopefully) be able to handle future conflicts.

    Conflict Resolutions: A sibling relationship means that there will sometimes be conflicts. Siblings can use Connection Cards to communicate how they feel in a conflict, and in this way find ways to resolve their conflicts and practice conflict resolution together.
