When feelings find words between siblings
Siblings are often our first best friends — and sometimes our biggest challenges. Research shows that children who learn to manage conflict, share, and understand each other as siblings have stronger relationships even outside the family. Sibling cards make it easy to talk about what would otherwise get stuck in arguments, jealousy, or silence — and turn it into security, closeness, and lifelong friendship.
Connection Cards Because siblings create conversations. Why is that important?
Communication: Siblings learn to communicate and express their feelings in a constructive way. Often these topics are discussed in a heated manner, but through calm conversation it makes it easier for the child to be honest and open.
Emotional intelligence and sympathy: When siblings use the emotion cards, they practice their emotional intelligence and empathy. They learn to recognize emotions in themselves and in each other. In this way, they learn to be aware of their own reactions and (hopefully) be able to handle future conflicts.
Conflict Resolutions: A sibling relationship means that there are sometimes conflicts. Siblings can use Connection Cards to communicate how they feel in a conflict, and in this way find ways to resolve their conflicts and practice conflict resolution together.
Sibling bonds are formed now — not later.
Siblings teach us our first important life skills: empathy, fairness, friendship and conflict management. But without tools, relationships risk getting bogged down in arguments, jealousy and misunderstandings. Sibling cards make it easy to start conversations today — and give your children a stronger relationship for life.
