Emotions that collide

For many, summer is a time of expectation. Whether holiday trips and fun excursions, weeks in the summer cottage or a beach visit are planned - we are many parents who feel the pressure that it will be as good as possible. Memories should be created and we are the directors.

At the same time, we know that it does not work that way at all. A long -awaited trip abroad can be the worst disaster and a spontaneous bath in the city's splash pond a memory for life. For sure, our (adults, often prepared) feelings sometimes completely with the children's in situations where we think all the ingredients for a fantastic day exist - but it ends with everyone just screaming and crying. So didn't the script look like?!

I think we can teach some if we look at our own reactions for different situations for a while. We may not react with the same emotional expression as the children, but can probably recognize us in the basic feeling.

A classic situation is that a super fun day has been spent somewhere but it ends in some kind of chaos. The kids are screaming and the adults get a little crazy for “Can't you ever be a little grateful?! Then we can never do this again, you don't seem to think it's fun at all! ”Surely we are many who have been right there? Not only do joy appear we wonder (loud or bitter to ourselves ..) How we have been able to raise such spoiled children in the whole peace ..

But if we back a little and look at ourselves - does it not happen that we feel, for example, disappointment when something we have been looking forward to ends? We may be able to keep the emotions in check, but probably you can feel a little sad. We have had so much fun..and suddenly it ended ..After all, it has nothing to do with gratitude for what we have experienced. This knows the vast majority of adults, but our picture of "the perfect (directed ..) day" may be so strong that it collides with that reason. (On Instagram you see no sad ending).

Are you good at confirming the children's feelings when it gets like this? Do you find peace to see why in these modes or are you drawn in the chaos and become part of it? Why do you think you react as you do?
